Morocco’s Lamia Bazir Named to Prestigious List of ‘Global Humanitarian Awards’
This award is given in recognition of eminent African women of different generations, driven by humanitarian causes, excelling in their fields of intervention and working concretely and sincerely for social change.
Lamia Bazir is a change agent and a women and youth activist who has held several positions of responsibility.
She has been the Executive Director of the National Observatory for the Rights of the Child and contributed to the development of cooperation programs between the governments of the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America (Millennium Challenge Corporation).
She was also a representative in the Economic and Social Council at the UN during the development of the SDGs, in addition to field work in Niger, for the fight against corruption against women.
In 2019, Lamia Bazir was selected as one of the 100 most influential young Africans by the Africa Youth Awards. In 2018, she was selected among the Young Arab Leaders by the World Government Summit in Dubai. Three years earlier, she was honored by the United Nations with the United Nations Volunteer Award.
