Netherlands’ Cobra Museum to Host Exhibition on Moroccan Modernism

The Netherlands’ Cobra Museum of Modern Art in Amstelveen in the Netherlands is organizing an exhibition on Moroccan modernism from April 14 to September 18, in partnership with the National Museum Foundation (FNM).

According to a statement released by FNM, this is the first time in the Netherlands in which more than thirty works from the collection of the Foundation will be exhibited and forty Moroccan artists will be brought together to give an overview of the evolution of modern Moroccan art.

The exhibition, conceived by the writer Abdelkader Benali, shows the collection of major artists of Moroccan painting such as Malika Agueznay, Chaïbia Talal, Mohamed Chabaa, Mohamed Drissi, Bouchaib Maoual, Mohamed Melehi, Farid Belkahia, Abdellah Fakhar, Daouad Aoulad Sayed, Lalla Essaydi, Abbès Saladi.

In 2023, the FNM will host the exhibition « A Multi-Headed Snake », loan from the collection of the Dutch museum Cobra. It will be exhibited at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
