UN’s FAO says world food prices remained stable in October

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) said that world food prices remained broadly stable in October, despite a slight increase in cereal prices due to uncertainties in the Black Sea.
The FAO food price index, which tracks changes in the international prices of a basket of commodities, fell very slightly from its September level, and now amounts to 135.9 points.
The UN organization pointed out in this regard that “with the last update, the index was down 14.9% from its historical peak in March 2022″, due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
