Government Council Examines Morocco-Saudi Arabia Agreement on Air Transport
During a press conference held at the end of the Governing Council, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with the Parliament, spokesman of the Government, Mustapha Baitas, indicated that this agreement aims at strengthening international air transport on the basis of a fair competition between the establishments of the sector.
It will enable airlines to offer various service options for the benefit of all travelers and employees in the maritime sector, at competitive and non-discriminatory prices, the minister said, adding that the agreement will encourage the companies concerned to apply competitive prices.
Under the agreement, he said, both sides will ensure the highest levels of safety and security in the field of air transport, noting that the agreement includes a number of provisions that set the framework for fruitful work between the two countries in the field of air transport.
These provisions relate, in particular, to the determination of customs and airport fees, customs exemptions and all facilities between the two parties.
They also concern the exchange of information and statistics, the equivalence of diplomas and licenses issued or approved by both parties, and consultation in the service of air safety and aviation, the minister concluded.
