Morocco will not participate in CHAN 2023

Morocco will not take part in the CHAN championship, nor defend the title it won during the last two editions.

The announcement was made this Thursday morning, as the Royal Moroccan Federation for Football (FRMF) published a statement explaining the boycott.

“The national team was unable to travel to Constantine in order to participate in the seventh edition of the African Championship for local players,” said the statement.

The Moroccan team was scheduled to leave for Constantine on Tuesday, January 10, after the players were grouped in a preparation course and played friendlies.
