Rabat and Madrid sign 19 memorandums of understanding, as bilateral summit closes
Before the long awaited Moroccan-Spanish high level meeting concludes in Rabat today, the countries’ most senior official signed a total of 19 bilateral agreements concerning a plethora of sectors.
Moroccan Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita and his Spanish counterpart Manuel Albares signed a triangular Cooperation MoU between AMCI and AECID, an MoU between MAECAMRE and the Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration on migration management.
Nizar Baraka, Minister of Environment penned an MoU between the Moroccan Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water and The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda in the field of Infrastructure.
In addition, an MoU between the Moroccan Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water and the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic challenge was signed for the management, development and protection of water resources.
The Segura Hydrographic Confederation and the Loukkos Hydraulic Basin Agency also agreed on cooperation for the decentralized management of water resources, in addition to a cooperation agreement between the Hydrographic Confederation of Guadalquivir and Tensift Hydraulic Basin Agency.
Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development Leila Benali signed an MoU to combat climate change and ensure sustainable development with her counterpart.
with regards to Agriculture, officials heading both ministries penned an MoU between Morocco and Spain in the fields of Sanitary, Phytosanitary and Development of Agricultural Sectors.
Minister Benmoussa overseeing national education signed an MoU with the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training for the creation of bilingual sections of Spanish in the scientific field.
pertaining to the economy, Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills signed an MoU in the field of vocational training.
In addition, an MoU for Cooperation between the Moroccan Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills and the Spanish Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration on Migration Movements was signed.
Regarding the Health sector, the Moroccan Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Spanish Ministry Inclusion, Social Security and Migration signed an MoU on Technical Cooperation in the field of Social Security, in addition to a declaration of Intent between Morocco and Spain in the field of health security.
Minister Ammor penned an MoU between the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity and the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism in the field of Tourism.
While the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and the Spanish Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda also signed an agreement in the field of transport.
For Higher Education, an MoU was signed between the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Professional Training and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation in the field of Research and Development.
Minister Miraoui also signed an MoU between the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Professional Training and the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training in the academic field.
As for culture, Minister Mehdi Bensaid signed an MoU for Development in Libraries, and an MoU in the field of Archives.
