Minister Mezzour Rules Out Any Increase in Pasta, Couscous Prices in Coming Months
The prices of pasta and couscous have not suffered and will not increase in the coming months, assured Saturday in Salé, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour.
“Pasta and couscous have not experienced price increases during the past six months and all indicators show that there will be no increase in the prices of these products in the coming months,” said Mezzour, in a statement to the press, after a visit to a factory of pasta and couscous.
The visit, to one of the factories of pasta and couscous equipped with the latest technology and a diversified stock of products, aims to ensure the capacity of the Moroccan industrial and commercial platform to ensure the Moroccan citizen all his needs in food products with reasonable prices, said the minister.
For his part, the President of the Moroccan Association of Pasta and Couscous Industries, Hassan Khalil, noted that the sector has a large production capacity and meets the needs of the Moroccan market.
Khalil has said, in this sense, that there has been no break in these products or price increases during the past six months, adding that there are no indicators that there will be a price increase.
