AU Executive Council aborts maneuvers to force adoption of non-consensual document on partnerships

The Executive Council of the African Union, convened in its 42nd ordinary session in Addis Ababa, on Thursday refused to adopt the draft “Strategy and Policy Framework for African Union Partnerships” and deferred its consideration due to lack of consensus.

This decision was taken while Algeria and its acolytes had maneuvered to adopt a document concocted in order to allow a broad participation in all summits of the African Union partnerships, in flagrant violation of the decisions of African Heads of State framing this participation.
