Awarding Canada Accreditation to Sheikh Zaïd Hospital, Significant Advance
Speaking at the ceremony dedicated to awarding the accreditation certificate held at the International University of Health Sciences Abulcasis in the presence of eminent personalities and health professionals, Ait Taleb stressed that the new national development model, which is the basis of these reforms, is based on the concept of « Responsibility and growth » developed by the Sovereign in His speech of July 29, 2019, which concept refers to essential principles such as trust, security, sustainability, the primacy of the citizens’ needs and aspirations and the importance of opening up to experiences, expertise and national and international skills
The current project to reform the national health system has come to materialize the essence of this new development model, in that it aims to raise both the medical practice and managerial culture in all national health organizations, public or private, to the height of international norms and standards of quality, he added.
In the same vein, the Minister said that the new Framework Law No. 06-22 on the national health system accurately reflects this desire, explaining that it actually devotes an entire chapter reserved for the creation of a « national accreditation system for health institutions », all under the responsibility of an independent High Authority in charge of assessing the quality of services and care.
Regarding the symbolism of the accreditation of the Hospital Sheikh Zaïd by an organization recognized by internationally renowned institutions such as the « Canadian Standards Council », « the International Society for Quality in Health Care » or « Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation », Ait Taleb said that this is a historical milestone, carrying a very strong symbolism, the result of a rigorous and hard work that gives shape to a whole vision of the future and opens the way to promising horizons.
