Ramadan/Food Products: National Market Supplied in Sufficient Quantities
Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohammed Sadiki, said Friday in Rabat that the national market is supplied with sufficient quantities of food products of high consumption during the holy month of Ramadan.
Overall, the national market is supplied in sufficient quantities of food products, especially those whose production takes place during this time of year, which will meet all the consumption needs of Ramadan and the coming months until May, said Sadiki in a statement to the press after the meeting of the high-level inter-ministerial commission to monitor and follow the supply of markets and prices.
Regarding vegetables, the Minister stressed that prices have begun to decline gradually to levels before the cold snap, stating that the price of tomato has decreased to 3.5 dirhams on the wholesale market and the prices of other products are also moving down.
Sadiki also said that this meeting discussed the monitoring of the supply of the national market in sufficient quantities of all food products, control and fight against anti-competitive practices to avoid price increases, which negatively affects the purchasing power of the citizen, in addition to the work of monitoring commissions in all sectors at national and local levels.
