Morocco, Spain’s Catalonia Seek to Boost Cooperation
Moroccan ambassador to Spain Karima Benyaich met, Friday in Barcelona, with the delegate of the Spanish government in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Maria Eugènia Gay Rosell.
This meeting is part of strengthening cooperation between Morocco and the various Spanish autonomous communities.
On this occasion, the two parties discussed ways to assist the Moroccan community residing in the region of Catalonia and study the mechanisms to improve their daily lives.
During this meeting, Benyaich stressed that the strategic partnership between Morocco and Spain has been further strengthened, which perfectly illustrates the excellent relations between the two countries.
She further noted that the High Level Meeting, held on 1 and 2 February in Rabat, has given a new impetus to bilateral relations at all levels.
Benyaich also held a working session with a delegation of Catalonian businessmen, who participated in the Forum of Dakhla, the opportunity to expose the business opportunities offered by the Kingdom and the improvement of the business climate through the many measures taken by the government to attract more foreign investors.
The ambassador presented the investment opportunities on the Moroccan market, highlighting the political, economic and social reforms carried out over the past twenty years by the Kingdom, thanks to the farsighted vision of HM King Mohammed VI, which have enabled it to position itself at the forefront of economic development in Africa.
Benyaich also received a delegation from the Moroccan Jewish community in Catalonia, who praised the major role of HM the King, in spreading the values of peace, tolerance and inter-religious dialogue.
During this meeting, the diplomat welcomed the Royal vision and the efforts made by HM the King for the preservation of the Jewish-Moroccan heritage and the institutional modernization of the structures for the management of the daily affairs of the members of the Jewish community, stressing that the enlightened vision of HM the King has helped to strengthen the ties of Moroccans of the Jewish faith established abroad with their motherland.
