WHO Urges China to Reveal Hidden Information on COVID-19’s Beginning
The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday made, today Friday, an umpteenth appeal for China to share all scientific information that could be useful to determine the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The appeal came after it became known that China has withheld genetic and molecular results about the animal market that was the first place suspected.
The information, from China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), was uploaded to an open access scientific platform and discovered by European experts who analyzed it and reported their findings to WHO, but all such data has since been removed from the platform.
The WHO said that as soon as it learned of this it asked the Chinese authorities to make the information available, which has not yet happened and added that these data do not allow for a definitive conclusion about the pandemic’s beginning, but rather constitute a step on the pathway towards an answer.
