About 94,000 jobs created in industry since beginning of government’s mandate – Minister
About 94,000 net jobs have been created in the industry sector since the beginning of the government’s mandate, the Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour said Wednesday in Casablanca.
Speaking at the opening of the 1st edition of the National Industry Day, organized under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, at the initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Mezzour said that the industry sector has set itself the goal of creating 410,000 jobs, reporting the creation of about 94,000 net jobs in the sector since the beginning of the government’s mandate.
Thus, he stressed the need to introduce new trades, strengthen “our technological capabilities” and technical infrastructure, research and development and “accelerate the decarbonization of our industry.”
Mezzour said that 86% of exports of goods in value are processed products, noting that record levels have been achieved in export of vehicles with more than 110 billion dirhams (MMDH), 40 billion in textiles, more than 40 billion in food, and more than 20 billion in aeronautics.
Returning to the speech of King Mohammed VI addressed to participants in the 1st edition of the National Industry Day, the Minister stressed that it has paved the way for bold and ambitious goals, noting in this regard that the Sovereign has emphasized the concept of sovereignty, as a goal and a means/
In addition, the Minister said that this national day is a joint idea with the General Confederation of Moroccan Businesses (CGEM) in order to take stock of achievements and project into the future.
The inaugural session of this day was marked by a Royal message, which was read by Mezzour.
