The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, said on Tuesday May 9 in Rabat that it was agreed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Guineans living abroad, Morissanda Kouyaté, to implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms linked to political dialogue as well as the mechanisms of joint commissions.

In a press briefing following his talks with his Guinean counterpart, Mr. Bourita indicated that it was agreed to encourage visits by ministers from the departments of Agriculture, Industry and Mines.

He pointed out that it was also agreed to develop consular cooperation and encourage visits from both sides in the areas of health, economy and tourism.

Mr. Bourita said that the joint commission to be held next July in Dakhla will be an opportunity to sign cooperation agreements and agree on a set of initiatives to strengthen relations between the two countries.

Describing as  » exemplary  » the relations between the two countries in all fields, Mr. Bourita stressed that there is constant consultation and coordination on many issues, in addition to cooperation through a set of projects launched by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI during the Sovereign’s visits to Conakry, which greatly contributed to strengthening and developing these relations.

» Our relations are also based on mutual support , » said the minister, hailing the firm position of Guinea, which has always backed and supported the Moroccan autonomy plan. “ Morocco stands alongside Guinea during this important stage in its contemporary history, and supports the stability and development of this brotherly African country ,” he continued.

With regard to the field of training, one of the important aspects of cooperation between the two countries, Mr. Bourita indicated that the Kingdom annually grants more than 250 scholarships, dedicated to the training of Guinean students in Morocco in various vocational training institutes, including in Dakhla and Laayoune, noting that Guinea is among the countries that benefit most from the training scholarships granted by the Kingdom to its brothers on the African continent.

“ We will work to ensure that this training is in line with the priorities of bilateral cooperation ,” he concluded.
