Holding of the 8th session of the Morocco-Wallonia-Brussels Joint Commission

The work of the eighth session of the Permanent Joint Commission (CMP) between the government of the Kingdom of Morocco and that of the Walloon region and the French Community Wallonia-Brussels opened on Monday in Rabat.

This session revolves around five main axes of partnerships for the period 2023-2027, namely education, sport, higher education and scientific research, culture, youth and communication, energy and the water-energy nexus; regionalization and evaluation of public policies, in addition to entrepreneurship, vocational training and social cohesion.

In a speech at the opening of the work of the CMP, the Director of Cooperation and Cultural Action at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nadia El Hnot underlined the role importance that the CMP plays as an instrument of cooperation in strengthening relations between Morocco and the Walloon region, adding that the CMP « has established itself over the years as an essential space for dialogue and exchange » between Moroccan and Belgian partners.

Signature of two projects

The CMP also aims to favor a « win-win approach that takes into consideration the opportunities for developing collaborations between public and private operators », she noted. And to add that it also plans to support the reforms and development strategies of Moroccan public services with the ministerial departments as the main actors of change while supporting the actors of civil society, cultural, academic and economic.

Alongside the work of the CMP, two projects will be signed, namely the renewal of the partnership charter relating to the program of openness to languages ​​and cultures, as well as the agreement between the two agencies responsible for exporting AWEX (Walloon Export Agency) and AMDIE (Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports) to strengthen exchanges and the sharing of good practices in terms of exports and investment promotion.

Co-chaired by the Director of Cooperation and Cultural Action at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nadia El Hnot, and by the General Administrator of Wallonia-Brussels International, Pascale Delcomminette, the CMP held its 7th edition in Brussels in 2017.
