Italy denied, on Monday, the Algerian propaganda and reiterated its appreciation of the serious and credible efforts of Morocco for the settlement of the Moroccan Sahara issue.

Reacting to information published in the press about the activation by VFS-Global of its temporary branch in the city of Tindouf, the Italian Embassy in Rabat indicated that this decision aims to improve and simplify the submission of visa applications, noting that « pop-up » centers will be opened in the coming weeks in other cities of Algeria.

In a press release, the diplomatic representation of Italy in Rabat wishes to specify that this administrative initiative is in no way linked to the Italian position on the question of the Sahara.

Italy, continues the same source, « confirms its position, as expressed in the Declaration on the Multidimensional Strategic Partnership, signed on November 1, 2019 in Rabat, reaffirming Italy’s full support for the efforts of the Secretary General of the to continue the political process, in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council ».
