The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Morocco-Spain Economic Council (CEMAES) are organizing this Monday in Madrid, a business meeting entitled « Investing in Morocco for common prosperity » aimed at promoting investment opportunities in the Kingdom with Spanish economic operators.

This economic meeting, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies and the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports (AMDIE), also aims to bring businesses closer of the two countries in order to accelerate their development on new markets, in particular African and Latin American, indicates the CGEM in a press release. It will see the participation of more than 150 Spanish companies operating in various sectors such as agrifood, circular economy, renewable energies, water management, waste processing, textiles and tourism.

These companies will thus have the opportunity to meet, within the framework of B2B, with potential partners and the AMDIE teams, in order to find out about the opportunities to be seized, in particular in the light of the current deployment of the new Charter. of Investment of Morocco, which provides exceptional incentives (financial and non-financial) to national and foreign investors, and targets 550 billion dirhams of investment and the creation of 500,000 jobs. “This economic mission is a continuation of the actions to strengthen economic and trade relations after the Morocco-Spain Economic Forum organized on February 2 in Rabat,” said Chakib Alj, president of the CGEM. “In view of the economic complementarities of the two Kingdoms, their proximity and the solid base of cooperation that already exists, the companies of our two countries must come closer together and take advantage of the reconfiguration of the value chains in progress to position, on a continental scale , regional and global, their know-how in key sectors such as industry and sustainability. All the ingredients are there to succeed in this challenge,” he said. For his part, Adil Rais, Co-President of CEMAES noted that Moroccan and Spanish companies have everything to gain from working together, by co-investing and taking advantage of the strengths of their respective countries.« The rapprochement between companies from both shores can only reflect the excellent relations and the long history that binds our countries », he said. This meeting represents the first stop of a roadshow in Spain to promote investment in Morocco, the statement concludes.
