Morocco’s Flagship Carrier RAM Plans to Strengthen its Fleet, Expand Global Network – Says CEO
RAM plans to open « many » new routes, mainly to Africa, Europe and the Americas, Addou said.
The Moroccan airline is putting the finishing touches to acquire new long- and medium-haul aircraft to meet an expected increase in tourist arrivals in Morocco and expand its network, the American media outlet points out.
A larger fleet is essential to reinforce the airline’s global stature and capitalize on Morocco’s brand image as a destination of choice for tourists, stressed RAM’s CEO on the sidelines of his participation in the « Bloomberg New Economy Gateway Africa » conference organized in Marrakech.
Royal Air Maroc wants to consolidate its Casablanca hub as a transit hub for sub-Saharan Africa, said Addou, noting that « the continent’s potential is very great and must be developed by African airlines. »
