Support for the national school health program will guarantee the good health of students, said Thursday in Rabat, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa.

Support for this program aims to raise awareness of health issues within schools, in order to enable students to continue their education in the best conditions, the minister said in a statement to the press following the signing of the agreement. a partnership agreement between the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Saham Foundation and the Moroccan Foundation for the promotion of preschool education, to strengthen the support for the school health programme.

This agreement aims to help children enrolled in preschool from the age of 4 and students in the first year of primary school who suffer from visual and hearing impairments as well as oral problems, he said, specifying that the Support for this promising program will be provided gradually, with the launch of the pilot phase in the regions of Béni Mellal-Khénifra and Casablanca-Settat.

This program will contribute to the training of educators in the preliminary examinations of the children and students targeted while mobilizing medical teams for this purpose, underlined Mr. Benmoussa.

For her part, the director general of the Moroccan Foundation for the promotion of pre-school education, Nisrine Ibn Abdeljalil, affirmed that the contribution of the Foundation she heads will focus on four aspects, namely visual impairment, hearing, oral health and nutrition education.

The DG also underlined that the field work carried out by the Moroccan Foundation for the promotion of pre-school education among children “will make his task easier”, specifying that the classrooms will be equipped with the equipment necessary for the diagnosis of children.

The national program will be supported gradually, in three independent stages, with a first experimental phase for the benefit of 75,000 children in the regions of Béni Mellal-Khénifra and Casablanca-Settat during the 2023-2024 school year.

The second phase, which concerns the expansion of the operation, will begin in the 2024-2025 school year with the aim of anchoring the experience in favor of 300,000 students, while the third phase will be dedicated to the generalization of the operation to the 12 regions of the Kingdom from the start of the 2025-2026 school year in favor of one million students.
