A fireball streaked across the skies of northern Morocco, believed to be a meteorite from space, as observed by the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC).
Spanish media reports suggest that scientists from the institute speculate the rock to be part of an asteroid, disintegrating at an altitude of 31,000 kilometers above the Moroccan region.
The sighting was captured through the “Smart” project, led by the institute’s José Maria Madiedo, revealing the fiery trail left by the space rock traveling at a speed of 61,000 kilometers per hour.
The SWEMN Network posted a video on YouTube, showing the intense white glow of the meteorite before it vanished from sight.
