Morocco’s women football national team have achieved their biggest rise in the FIFA latest rankings, moving up 14 places thanks to their qualification for the round of 16 at the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand which ended on August 20.
As the Confederation of African Football (CAF) noted on its website, the Moroccan team has moved up 14 places by ranking 58th worldwide, up from 72nd. In Africa, meanwhile, the Atlas Lionesses are ranked fourth, behind Nigeria, South Africa, and Cameroon.
The top 10 African nations in the latest FIFA rankings are Nigeria in 32nd place worldwide, South Africa ranked 45th worldwide, Cameroun placed 56th in the world, Morocco (58th), Ghana (59th), Ivory Coast (66th), Zambia (69th), Tunisia (76th), Equatorial Guinea (79th), and Algeria (80th).
