The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has deployed technical teams to monitor the new viral COVID-19 mutant called Iris, given that it has spread to a range of countries over the past weeks.
Several international health reports have indicated that the new variant has been ferocerable, which excludes the possibility of a return to the critical health state that the world witnessed about four years ago.
The ministry has not registered any new case of the new viral mutant; but the possibility of its entry into Morocco is high, given its spread to a group of countries in the world and the season.
The ministry said, in a previous statement, that the possibility of a new wave in the Kingdom remains possible, with the possibility of recording some serious cases or even deaths, especially among elderly people with immune vulnerability or chronic diseases.
