In this regard, Al-Khasawneh commended the two countries for their shared stance on several Arab, regional, and international issues. Their unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause, specifically achieving a fair and enduring solution within a two-state framework, ensuring an autonomous Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, was particularly noteworthy.
He also highlighted how the two countries complement each other in this regard and their historical contributions in aiding and protecting the Palestinian cause. This includes HM King Mohammed VI serving as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee and HM Abddallah II as Hashemite Custodian of Islamic and Christian sacred places in Al-Quds.
In addition, the Jordanian CEO emphasized the need to enhance bilateral collaboration in different areas. He urged for the prompt convening of the Joint Jordanian-Moroccan High Commission for Cooperation to explore various aspects of bilateral cooperation and devise mechanisms for development in the mutual interest of both nations and their brotherly peoples.
For his part, Mayara welcomed the level of fraternal relations uniting the two Kingdoms, under the enlightened leadership of the two Sovereigns, stressing the imperative of further developing these ties and broadening the scope of cooperation to all sectors.
In this respect, he praised the efforts made by the Jordanian-Moroccan parliamentary fraternity committee to promote the exchange of expertise and experience, stressing the need to raise economic cooperation between the two countries to the level of their fraternal ties and their strategic relationship at the political and diplomatic levels.
He stressed the importance of promoting parliamentary cooperation through the exchange of expertise and experience in all areas of common interest.
The meeting was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires at the Moroccan Embassy in Amman, Adil Oussihamou, the Minister of State at the Jordanian Prime Minister’s Office, Ibrahim Al-Jazi, the Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Wajih Azaiza, and the Chairman of the Jordanian-Moroccan Parliamentary Fraternity Committee, Mohammad Dawoudieh.
Mayara was accompanied by a large parliamentary delegation including Abdeillah Hefdi (CGEM), Mohammed Bakouri (RNI), Abdelkrim Al-Hams (PAM), Abderrahmane Idrissi, Chairman of the Morocco-Jordan Parliamentary Fraternity Committee, Assad Zerouali, Secretary General of the House of Councillors, Zakaria Hanini, Chief of Staff, Saad Ghazi, Director of External Relations and Communication, and Tayeb Cohen, Head of Multilateral Relations.
The President of the House of Councillors also held talks on Sunday with the President of the Jordanian Senate, Faysal Akef Al-Fayez, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Safadi.
This visit is part of a drive to consolidate the exceptional relations between the two countries, strengthen joint parliamentary action and reinforce bilateral cooperation in all fields and on issues of common interest, in addition to intensifying coordination and consultation in various international forums.
