Abdelouafi Laftit: Morocco Committed to Allocating All Resources in Crisis, Natural Disaster Management

In a speech read by the Wali-Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, Mohamed Faouzi, on behalf of the Minister, it was emphasized that civil protection and civil defense are crucial issues in Morocco.
This is due to the special attention given by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who has provided wise and enlightened guidance through various speeches and messages, according to the Moroccan official.
Laftit stated that the Kingdom’s success in this field is contingent upon working in harmony with the greater Arab world. This includes sharing experiences and best practices in hazard management and establishing channels and mechanisms for consultation and coordination at both the Arab and regional levels.
The Minister further stated that « such an will enable the adoption of preventive and proactive measures with complementarity, synergy, and cohesion. »
He commends the Arab League for their various initiatives to combat natural disasters. This includes the establishment of an Arab coordination mechanism and the efforts of the Arab Bureau for Civil Protection and Environmental Affairs, which operates under the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior. These efforts have created a platform for collaboration between civil protection and civil defense organizations across Arab countries.
He said Morocco was selected to host the 11th large-scale meeting in acknowledgment of their civil protection efforts. This decision demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations in battling the impacts of climate change and managing natural disasters, which the international community recognizes as significant.
Held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammmed VI, this event saw the participation of presidents and representatives of Arab civil protection bodies, the Arab League, Nayef University of Security Sciences, in addition to the secretary general of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.
