The health situation in the areas affected by the Al Haouz earthquake is « under control », said Richard Brennan, Regional Emergency Director at the Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO).
In a statement to the Qatari channel Al Jazeera, broadcast on the Friday afternoon news, Brennan said that the health situation in Morocco is « under control ».
The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, said last Tuesday that the health sector had been able to mobilize, thanks to the High Directions of HM King Mohammed VI, the entire logistical and human arsenal to meet the needs of populations affected by the earthquake that struck Al Haouz and several other provinces of Morocco.
« We were able to bring the situation under control without having to mobilize human resources from other regions », added the Minister, stressing that all those involved in managing this disaster were working at full speed to help those affected.
