HH Princess Lalla Zineb Chairs Signing Ceremony of Partnership Agreement for Equipment of New Child Reception Centers
Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb, president of the Moroccan League for Child Protection (LMPE), chaired, Monday at the Lalla Meriem Center for children deprived of family in Rabat, the signing ceremony of a partnership agreement between LMPE and the ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, on the equipment of four new reception centers for children without family protection.
Signed by Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb and Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mehdi Bensaid, this agreement provides for the ministry’s contribution to equipping four new reception centers for children deprived of family in the cities of Oujda, Ouarzazate, Tangier and El Jadida with an overall budget of 15.5 million dirhams, LMPE said in a press release.
The equipment of these centers will give new impetus to the social actions of the League and will increase the reception capacity of facilities dedicated to children in vulnerable situations in the regions concerned, specifically 425 beds, distributed as follows: 136 beds in Oujda, 88 beds in Ouarzazate, 120 beds in Tangier and 81 beds in El Jadida, the same source pointed out.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, Her Highness Princess Lalla Zineb hailed the efforts made by the ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication in promoting partnerships in child protection, particularly children in difficult situation, highlighting the positive experience carried out by both parties in this area, in accordance with the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI.
For his part, Bensaid, quoted in the press release, noted with satisfaction the convincing results achieved by the League in the field of the protection and preservation of the rights of beneficiaries in its reception facilities.
In this regard, he expressed his department’s will to endeavor with the League to implement the agreement signed between the two parties and to further strengthen the measures and mechanisms for the protection of target groups, in application of the High Royal Instructions, aimed at improving the conditions of children in precarious situation.
