Morocco’s hosting of the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly and the 47th Arab Police and Security Leaders Conference underlines that the role played by the Kingdom and the support it provides to the efforts aimed at fighting transcontinental crime are « useful » and « important », Al-Raisi told the press, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 47th Arab Police and Security Leaders Conference, organized by Morocco, represented by the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) in partnership with the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.
In this regard, Al-Raisi noted that the security challenges facing the world require the establishment of a joint security strategy with cross-border crime at the center of its priorities and to which all countries in the world contribute.
He also underlined the need to optimally use new technologies in the fight against cross-border crime as many criminal gangs use technology, stressing that training and rigorous use of technologies is the key to stopping criminal activities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, the Secretary General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, the President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the President of the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), and police and security leaders from around twenty Arab countries as well as six regional and international organizations.
This two-day event brings together senior security officials from several Arab countries, as well as representatives from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation (AFRIPOL), the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS)…
