This Joint Declaration was adopted following discussions between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mariya Gabriel, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom.
This visit marks a new phase and new perspectives in the relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Bulgaria, based on mutual respect, reciprocal trust, continuous consultation, and cooperation.
The two ministers, expressing their intention to strengthen political dialogue, reaffirmed their common will to further enhance partnership in all areas of mutual interest, particularly in economic and trade cooperation, especially in the fields of renewable energies, green transition, high technologies, the automotive sector, agriculture, and value chain development.
To this end, both parties agreed to hold the 11th session of the Morocco-Bulgaria Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Industrial, Commercial, and Technical Cooperation, scheduled to take place in Morocco.
The ministers also highlighted, in the Joint Declaration, the importance of promoting cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, particularly through partnerships and exchanges, including exploring possibilities for participation in research and development projects.
Bourita and Gabriel emphasized the significance of EU-Morocco cooperation in addressing current regional and global challenges.
They also underscored the need to develop cooperation, partnership, and dialogue between the EU and its southern neighborhood and the Euro-African zone, aiming to provide common responses to the challenges these regions face, particularly in terms of security, stability, migration, and socio-economic and human development.
In this regard, both ministers reaffirmed their intention to contribute to strengthening the strategic partnership between the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco.
The two parties highlighted their positive and constructive role in maintaining stability, security, and peace in their respective regions and their commitment to the universal principles of the United Nations Charter, as well as the need for the peaceful resolution of conflicts in full respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty of states.
The ministers expressed their willingness to deepen their dialogue and cooperation on regional and international issues of common interest and key strategic challenges. They also agreed to continue regular consultations, coordination, and cooperation within international organizations and bodies.
