Royal Army patrols intercepted, on Tuesday 211km southwest off Dakhla, a stranded pirogue carrying 85 sub-Saharan would-be migrants, including four women and three minors.
The pirogue, which set sail on February 22nd, was heading to the Canary Islands, the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces said in a press release, adding that the rescued people received the necessary care before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures.
