Belgian PM Visits Mohammed V Mausoleum

Belgian Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo, visited, on Monday, the Mohammed V Mausoleum in Rabat, where he observed a minute’s silence at the graves of the late Sovereigns HM Mohammed V and HM Hassan II, may God have them in His holy mercy.

On his arrival at the Mohammed V Mausoleum, De Croo was greeted by Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, and the Kingdom’s historiographer and curator of the Mausoleum, Abdelhak Lamrini.

De Croo, who was accompanied by a large delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Paul Van Tigchelt, Minister of the Interior Annelies Verlinden, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadja Lahbib and Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration Nicole De Moor, laid a wreath on the graves of the late Kings before signing the Mausoleum’s Guest Book.

On this occasion, Lamrini provided explanations to the Belgian Prime Minister on this monument of great historical and civilizational significance.

De Croo, who arrived in Rabat on Sunday evening leading a large government and business delegation, is on a visit to the Kingdom, where he will co-chair the Moroccan-Belgian High Joint Commission meeting with Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.

During his visit, the Belgian Prime Minister will hold talks with the Head of Government. Ministers accompanying De Croo will also hold working sessions with their Moroccan counterparts, focusing on subjects of common interest and ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The visit will be marked by the signing of several cooperation agreements and conventions between the two countries in various fields.
