Units of the Royal Armed Forces in charge of coastal surveillance intercepted 52 sub-Saharan would-be migrants on Sunday when their pirogue ran aground 170 km south of the city of Dakhla.
The would-be migrants, who had intended to reach the Canary Islands, were given first aid before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, according to a statement by the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
