On the sidelines of his participation in the official celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Kingdom of Spain’s national police force, Hammouchi also held talks with Secretary of State for Security, Rafael Pérez Ruiz, and General Commissioner for Foreigners and Borders, Julián Ávila Polo.
The talks with the heads of the Spanish security services provided an opportunity to review the significant results achieved in the field of security cooperation between Morocco and Spain, notably in terms of operational coordination and technical assistance to deal with terrorist threats and various forms of organized crime, in particular irregular migration networks, human and drug traffickings, among others.
Hammouchi also discussed with his Spanish counterparts the various security threats and risks that threaten the regional environment of both countries, as well as the mechanisms likely to develop and broaden the scope of bilateral security cooperation in order to face all these challenges and risks with a common vision.
Hammouchi took part in the official celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Spanish national police force, at the invitation of the institution’s Director General. He is the only African security and intelligence official to take part in these celebrations.
He was accompanied during these celebrations by a security delegation representing the hub of the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance.
The official celebrations organized by the Spanish authorities to mark the creation of the national police force were attended by King Felipe VI of Spain.
