In a statement to the press at the end of the talks, the governor of the Region of Piura, Ernesto Neyra León, stressed the importance of further strengthening relations between Morocco and Peru and diversifying the fields of cooperation, calling for advantage to be taken of the enormous potential available to the two countries.
In this respect, Neyra León pointed out that the signing of the twinning agreement between the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab Regional Council and the regional government of Piura last Tuesday in Dakhla is a concrete illustration of the mutually beneficial cooperation between Morocco and Peru.
For his part, the parliamentarian and member of the Peruvian Congress, Eduardo Castillo Rivas, in his capacity as spokesperson for the Fuerza Popular party in Piura and member of the Support Group for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, insisted on the importance of this twinning capable of giving new impetus to relations between the two countries which commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their relations.
The twinning agreement, signed during a visit made by a delegation from the regional government of Piura, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation relations in many areas of common interest.
Castillo Rivas also expressed his support for the opening of a Consulate General of Peru in the city of Dakhla.
