Relations between Morocco and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam have reached a level of maturity that calls for the development of new forms of bilateral cooperation and innovative partnerships, particularly in the economic field, said, on Thursday in Rabat, speaker of the House of Advisors, Enaam Mayara.

During his talks with Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party, Mayara expressed the willingness of the upper house, given its composition and the nature of its subjects of interest, to support all initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, said a statement by the House of Advisors.

In this regard, he stressed the solidity of fraternal relations between Morocco and the Republic of Vietnam, “based on a historical and humanitarian accumulation of events which constitute a common memory between the two countries and the two peoples”, noting that both nations have always affirmed their desire to strengthen these ties through the exchange of official visits and the signing of cooperation agreements.

The speaker of the House of Advisors also praised the Republic of Vietnam’s positions in regional and international forums in support of the Kingdom’s national causes, led by the Moroccan Sahara issue, stressing that “the perpetuation of this artificial conflict hinders the region’s development and paves the way for various forms of insecurity and instability”.

For his part, Nguyen Trong Nghia, on a visit to the Kingdom leading a large delegation, expressed his great admiration for the tangible development the Kingdom is experiencing in various fields. He also underlined the strength of political relations between the two countries, stressing the need to redouble efforts to boost bilateral economic cooperation.
