Rabat – Moroccan government’s Awrach program has successfully included over 231,000 young people, announced Younes Sekkouri, the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, during the oral questions session at the House of Representatives on Monday.

Responding to an inquiry from the Haraki group regarding income improvement and the economic inclusion of youth, Minister Sekkouri revealed that 50,000 young individuals have participated in workshops designed to support sustainable inclusion efforts.

Following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Awrach initiative marks a significant step in the country’s youth employment strategy, he asserted.

The National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills has undergone a reorganization to support this effort. The revamped program aims to integrate 80,000 young people and enhance the employability of 500,000 job seekers.

Minister Sekkouri emphasized that self-employment plays a crucial role in youth inclusion and income improvement. He highlighted the launch of the Ana Moukawil (Arabic for ‘I am entrepreneur’) regional program which has been in development for a year.

With a defined budget and all necessary agreements in place, this regional program is set to be implemented across all regions, further bolstering opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
