Busy schedule for the national futsal team set to compete in the World Cup from September 14 to October 6 in Uzbekistan. No fewer than 6 friendly matches are planned this summer as part of preparations for the global event, where the reigning African champions hope to improve on their last performance (quarter-finals).

After an initial victory against Afghanistan (4-1), Mesrar & Co will face Bosnia (Thursday, July 25 and Saturday, July 27), Poland (August 1 and 3), Spain (August 12 and 14), Venezuela (August 26 and 31), and the Netherlands (August 28).

Through these matches, the national coach aims to measure up against top world teams like La Roja (2nd in the world) and those with a playing style similar to the Lions of the Atlas’ World Cup opponents.

In this context, they faced Afghanistan, who they will meet again next Saturday. The Afghans have a playing style very similar to that of Tajikistan, whom the Moroccans will face in Uzbekistan, just like Panama, hence the choice to play two friendlies against Venezuela.

As a reminder, during the last edition (2021 in Lithuania), the national team saw their journey end in the quarter-finals after a narrow defeat to Brazil (0-1). The Lions had previously played Venezuela (3-2), Solomon Islands (6-0), Thailand (1-1), and Portugal (3-3).
