The Moroccan Olympic team secured a victory against FC Villefranche Beaujolais, a team playing in the French national championship, with a 2-1 win in a preparation match for the men’s football tournament at the 2024 Olympics. The match took place on Thursday in Villefranche, a suburb of Lyon.
The first goal for the national team was scored by Abdessamad Ezzelzouli in the 64th minute, with Yassine Kechta adding a second goal two minutes later.
The men’s Olympic football tournament, featuring 16 teams, will be held from July 24 to August 9 in Paris. The national team will compete in Group B alongside Argentina, Ukraine, and Iraq.
In their opening match of the Olympic football tournament, the national team will face Argentina on July 24 at the Geoffroy Guichard Stadium in Saint-Étienne.
