Former Spanish international Cesc Fabregas has been appointed head coach of Como, the Lombardy club announced on Friday. Como will compete in Serie A this season. The 2010 World Cup winner has signed a four-year contract, the Italian team stated in a press release.
At 37, Fabregas was already part of the club’s staff. He also managed the club’s youth team, where he concluded his playing career last year, following stints at Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea.
Como, which has also signed former Spanish international goalkeeper Pepe Reina, will start their season at home against Juventus.
