Olympique de Marseille is not giving up on Bilal El Khannouss. According to L’Equipe, the Moroccan international will be closely monitored by OM during his performances with the Atlas Lions at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Journalist Cyril Olivès-Berthet, who presented the teams of Argentina and Morocco for the Olympics, discussed Bilal El Khannouss, who continues to attract interest from the Phoceans. The team’s new Italian coach, Roberto De Zerbi, has informed the management of the need to strengthen the team with a player of his midfield quality.

Indeed, OM president Pablo Longoria is working with the club’s technical advisor, former Moroccan international Mehdi Benatia, on several dossiers, including that of the Genk player. El Khannouss has attracted the attention of several European clubs recently after his remarkable performances in Belgium.

Bilal’s contract with Genk runs until 2027, which means he could be costly. His market value is estimated at 22 million euros on Transfermarkt, while Sky reports a figure of 35 million euros for his services. He is also the most expensive U23 player in the Belgian championship.

Other major clubs such as Galatasaray, Benfica Lisbon, Atlético Madrid, AS Roma, and Olympique de Marseille have already expressed interest in the Atlas Lion.

To recall, Bilal won the Belgian Pro League’s Best Debutant Award in 2023, as well as the Hope of the Year Award in Belgium.
