It thus emerges from BAM’s annual report on the economic, monetary and financial situation, that by component, sight deposits with banks increased by 6.8%, while those in term terms and those in foreign currencies showed respective declines. of 10.9% and 12.7%.
Likewise, specifies the Central Bank, currency circulation continued its strong progression with a further increase of 10.9%, and the securities of Collective Investment Organizations in monetary securities fell by 7.6% and the accounts of savings increased by 1.8%.
Furthermore, data by institutional sector reveal that individual deposits increased by 3.6%, the result of respective increases of 5.4% and 1.9% in their current and savings accounts, as well as ‘a decline of 4.3% of those at term.
Regarding private non-financial companies, assets increased by 8.9%, driven by a 12.8% increase in their sight deposits, while their term deposits showed a drop of 13.5%.
As for public companies, they experienced declines of 5.4% in their sight deposits and 43.8% in their term deposits.
