The festival featured performances by seven national military bands from various components of the Royal Armed Forces, including the Royal Guard, the Royal Gendarmerie, the General Directorate of National Security, and the Auxiliary Forces. Additionally, military bands from six foreign countries—Saudi Arabia, Ivory Coast, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United States of America, and Senegal—graced the event.
The evening began with a stunning performance by the Royal Guard, captivating the audience with a diverse repertoire that blended traditional and modern tunes. Following this, each participating band took turns showcasing their unique musical styles.
Spain’s « Inmemorial del Rey No. 1 » Infantry Regiment impressed with their precision and discipline, while the Royal Air Force Band delighted the crowd with a harmonious mix of international and Moroccan compositions, reflecting the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.
Musical groups from Saudi Arabia, Ivory Coast, and the Northern Zone Auxiliary Forces delivered vibrant and engaging performances. The FAR General Staff’s musical formation, known for its role in training other military ensembles, gave an impeccable performance, demonstrating its leadership in the field.
Foreign bands added to the festival’s diversity, with notable performances from the United Arab Emirates, Senegal, and the 23rd Utah National Guard Band from the USA. The Royal Gendarmerie, backed by its Music Institute established in 1985, showcased its experience and talent, followed by the General Directorate of National Security, which shared its rich musical heritage with the audience.
The Royal Navy Band, one of Morocco’s most iconic musical groups, closed the evening with a brilliant performance, leaving the audience in awe.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Army Corps General, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, the Army Corps General, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, and the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra Region, alongside other civilian and military dignitaries.
The festival continues on Saturday with performances in Rabat at Mahaj Riad, in Salé at Bab El Mrissa, and in Témara at Harhoura Beach. It will culminate on July 30 with a closing concert at El Mechouar Square in Tetouan, preceded by musical performances on July 29 at M’diq Corniche. The military bands will present various festival performances starting at 9:00 PM.
