The National Federation of Café and Restaurant Owners in Morocco is concerned about the “enormous” rise in prices of raw materials such as coffee, fruit, meat, olive oil, etc., in addition to the payment of royalties for the exploitation of the public domain.
In this context, the federation questioned Ahmed Rahhou, president of the Competition Council, on the fast and continuous increase of raw and basic materials’ prices. The president of the federation, Ahmed Boufkrane, recalled that an appeal to the president of the Competition Council had been issued « about two and a half years ago, the prices of basic products and raw materials had then increased senselessly and disproportionately in relation to the capacities of professionals and citizens.
Ahmed Boufkrane also underlined the serious repercussions of this situation on the stability of the country and will generate panic and doubts about the future of investments in a certain number of small and very small companies.
