France is the leading investor in Morocco for the year 2023, with a net flow of 6.8 billion dirhams (billion dirhams), compared to 3.8 billion dirhams in 2022, an increase of 79.5%, according to the Exchange Office.

This flow represents a share of 61.4% of the total net flow of foreign direct investments (FDI), specifies the foreign exchange office in its 2023 annual report on the balance of payments and overall external position of Morocco.

For its part, the net flow of FDI from the United Arab Emirates amounts to +2.3 billion dirhams in 2023 against +2.2 billion dirhams in 2022, followed by that from the United Kingdom (+1.8 billion dirhams against +2.6 billion dirhams), then Spain and Germany with +1.5 billion dirhams each.

The net flow of FDI in Morocco reached 11.1 billion dirhams in 2023, compared to 23 billion dirhams in 2022, a drop of 51.7% due to the combined effect of the increase in expenditure to 23.5 billion dirhams in 2023 (+ 35.8%) and the drop in revenue to MAD 34.6 billion in 2023 (-14.1%).
