Girona Signs Pau López on Loan from Marseille

The Spanish football club Girona announced on Friday that they have signed goalkeeper Pau López from Marseille.

In a statement on their official website, the club confirmed that Pau López, who spent three seasons at Marseille, joins Girona on loan.

The club also highlighted that the 29-year-old returns to his roots, having started his career at Girona before playing for Espanyol, Barcelona, Tottenham, and Marseille. He now has the chance to compete in the Champions League with Girona.

Pau López has played 358 official matches, including 100 in La Liga and 95 in Ligue 1. He was also called up to the Spanish national team by Luis Enrique.

Notably, Girona finished last season in third place in La Liga, behind runners-up Barcelona and champions Real Madrid.
