Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens in the Red

The Casablanca Stock Exchange started Monday’s session in negative territory, with its main index, the MASI, dropping by 0.32% to 13,850.44 points.

A few minutes after the opening, the MASI.20, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the highest ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, fell by 0.25% to 1,124.03 points and by 0.31% to 1,007.46 points, respectively.

The MASI Mid and Small Cap, an index that tracks the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, also lost 0.15% to settle at 1,255.15 points.

Among individual stocks, Lesieur Cristal (-9.77% to 249 MAD), CTM (-6.41% to 629 MAD), Cosumar (-3.12% to 183 MAD), Ciments du Maroc (-2.99% to 1,785 MAD), and Delta Holding (-2.88% to 50.3 MAD) posted the biggest declines.

On the other hand, the best performances were seen by Stroc Industrie (+9.94% to 53.99 MAD), Réalisations mécaniques (+9.28% to 649 MAD), Colorado (+1.98% to 51.5 MAD), Attijariwafa Bank (+1.22% to 548 MAD), and Involys (+1.16% to 87 MAD).

On Friday, the MASI closed with a modest gain of 0.16%.
