Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is seeking a second term in the White House by reinforcing his conservative economic and immigration policies, while emphasizing the achievements of his first term from 2016 to 2020.
The economy, a central pillar of his campaign, is a key element of his platform. To attract middle-class support, Trump has promised to reduce taxes, particularly on tips, a move that has pleased around 4 million voters, and to increase tariffs on European and Chinese products.
In June, during a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trump floated the idea of eliminating taxes on tips, a measure he intends to implement if elected. He has also recently suggested eliminating federal income taxes and payroll taxes on tips, which could have a significant financial impact.
Trump has also vowed to reinstate his strict fiscal policy against Chinese companies, increasing tariffs up to 60%. He proposed a general tariff increase of 20%, with rates as high as 100% on electric vehicles, asserting his intent to make the United States the leading energy power.
On immigration, Trump remains firm, with a 20-point program that includes continuing the construction of the border wall with Mexico, deploying security forces to prevent illegal crossings, and continuing to deport undocumented migrants.
In a recent interview with Elon Musk, Trump claimed that over 20 million people had entered the United States illegally, promising to take all necessary measures to stem this flow if elected.
In terms of foreign policy, he asserted that he would have avoided the current global conflicts and is committed to restoring America’s greatness by preventing a third world war and building a large missile defense shield across the country.
