Twenty-three people lost their lives, and 2,883 were injured, including 107 seriously, in 2,086 road accidents in urban areas between August 12 and 18, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). The primary causes of these accidents were driver inattention, failure to respect traffic rules, speeding, and other factors such as drunk driving. Authorities issued 45,088 tickets, filed 6,461 legal reports, and collected 8,483,325 dirhams in fines.
