Raja Casablanca has discovered its opponent for the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, a stage that determines qualification for the group phase, just like AS FAR.

After a resounding victory against the Association Sportive de la Garde Nationale Nigérienne (5-0), the Green team will face the Ghanaian club Samartex in the next round. Samartex eliminated the Cameroonian club Victoria by winning the return leg in Ghana (1-0), having already won the first leg in Cameroon with the same score.

The first leg between Raja and Samartex will take place in Ghana between September 13 and 15, while the return leg will be held in Morocco between September 20 and 22.

As for AS FAR, they will face Sudan’s Al Merrikh, who eliminated El Nasr from Libya. The capital’s club qualified for the second preliminary round of the African Champions League after a 2-0 victory against Nigeria’s Remo Stars on Sunday at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Union de Touarga was eliminated by RC Abidjan in a penalty shootout (1-2, T.R.A 0-0) in the return leg of the first preliminary round, held on Saturday at the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium.

Morocco’s other representative in this competition, Renaissance de Berkane, who were finalists in the last edition, is exempt from this round.
