Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Strong

The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened Thursday on a positive note, with its main index, the MASI, rising by 0.5% to reach 13,977.95 points. The MASI.20, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks, increased by 0.56% to 1,135.18 points, while the MASI.ESG, an index focused on companies with the best ESG ratings as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, advanced by 0.4% to 1,018.98 points. The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which tracks the performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, grew by 0.68% to 1,271.42 points.

On an individual stock level, IB Maroc.com posted the largest gain, rising by 7.81% to 37.94 DH, followed by S2M (+7.48% to 279.45 DH), CFG Bank (+4.01% to 181.5 DH), Réalisations Mécaniques (+3.7% to 560 DH), and Med Paper (+2.67% to 22.65 DH).

Conversely, Stokvis Nord Afrique experienced the largest decline, falling by 8.51% to 14.63 DH, followed by Société des Boissons du Maroc (-2.99% to 2,600 DH), Disway (-1.53% to 669.6 DH), CIH (-1.51% to 400 DH), and LafargeHolcim Maroc (-1.29% to 1,910 DH).

The day before, the MASI had closed with a gain of 0.22%.
