The Directorate of Medicines and Pharmacy (DMP) at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has initiated, starting from August 29, the second round of meetings with representatives of the pharmaceutical sector.
In a statement released on Friday, the ministry announced that it has met with the new board of the Pharmaceutical Companies of Morocco (LEMM) as part of this round, noting that this meeting is in line with the continuation of the participatory policy pursued by the DMP with various representatives of the pharmaceutical sector in Morocco, following the instructions of the Minister of Health and Social Protection.
According to the statement, the meeting primarily focused on avenues of cooperation between the two parties to ensure pharmaceutical security, which is a fundamental basis for the success of the Grand Royal Project of Universal Medical Coverage.
The importance of encouraging research and development in the pharmaceutical field to develop innovative medicines that contribute to strengthening the hospital arsenal of the national health system was also emphasized.
The two parties agreed that the establishment of the Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products represents a significant step towards enhancing good governance in the pharmaceutical and health products sector.
